Meet The Mechanics Behind The Scenes

Chad and Clarence Stronge are the co-owners of Canyon Meadows Auto Service, They opened at this location in October 2005. Chad grew up on cars and was able to identify makes and models as soon as he could talk. With that said, it became evident that he would have a career in the automotive industry. Chad began working as a technician in 1995 and has a wealth of diverse experience under his belt. The same goes for Clarence. Clarence has long had a passion for cars. He started working on them as an adolescent. Following a university education, Clarence took an automotive apprenticeship and immersed himself in his life of work. He has owned several gas stations with auto repair shops in different locations in the city of Calgary, but has greatly enjoyed having the opportunity to be able to focus on auto service alone.

  • Chad Stronge
    Chad StrongeOwner/Technician Licensed Technician & Interprovincial Red Seal Certified

    Chad has lived in Calgary all his life. A lifelong gearhead, Chad was able to point out different makes of cars as soon as he was old enough to talk. Chad has been in the auto industry since 1995 and has worked in all different types of service shops with extensive factory training. He is married with 3 children, and is always furthering his automotive industry education from a technical or business standpoint. Chad is a huge outdoor enthusiast, and a big proponent of Meditation and Yoga.

  • Clarence Stronge
    Clarence StrongeOwner/Technician Licensed Technician & Interprovincial Red Seal Certified

    Clarence was born in small town Saskatchewan and was raised in Regina. Always an automotive enthusiast, he repaired his father's manual transmission in the backyard when he was 15 years old. After spending some time in University Clarence realized that fixing cars was going to be his calling. He has owned different repair shops since 1977.

    MarkInterprovincial Red Seal Certified Licensed Automotive Service Technician

    A native Calgarian, Mark has worked at Canyon Meadows Auto since March 2013. Mark is married and has 2 grown sons. Mark has extensive experience in the auto industry having been working on cars since the mid 1970's. Mark knows all makes from a Ferrari to a Ford like the back of his hand. He still owns the first car he ever had that he got when he was 15 years old, and restored it completely to win multiple "Best in Show" awards among other awards at the World of Wheels. Mark also loves riding horses and hockey.

    DonService Advisor- Licensed Technician

    Don has been with Canyon Meadows Auto Service since Feb 2020. Don is a licensed technician, who has vast amounts of experience in the tire industry. His favorite part of the auto industry is the changes in cutting edge electronics technology. Don loves working with people, and has a special affinity for working with elderly persons. He is married with 3 grown children. In his spare time he enjoys camping, boating, and working on car projects at home.

  • ScottRed seal licensed Automotive Service Technician

    Scott is originally from The Rock! Port Aux Basques, Newfoundland. Scott has been with Canyon Meadows Auto since May/21. He began working on cars in a friend's fathers shop at a very young age. Scott likes to joke that he was the assistant manager of the shop as there were only 2 of them that worked there. Scott moved to Nova Scotia just before adulthood and began an automotive apprenticeship. East coasters always make the best technicians due to their ability to deal with rust issues, and Scott is no exception. He transplanted to Calgary and completed his apprenticeship. Scott is father to a 9 year old son. He is an electrical wizard, and an avid golfer. Scott's favorite part about the auto industry is helping people with their vehicles to get back on the road as quickly and safely as possible.

  • EvanApprentice Automotive Service Technician- Appointment Coordinator

    Originally from Calgary, Evan started at Canyon Meadows Auto in May /21. He has always played with cars pulling things apart from an extremely young age, and always knew that he wanted to work on cars in his life. Once he got his first car, he was constantly tinkering around with anything he could learn about the machine. Evan completed the 2 year AST program at SAIT to become an automotive service technician. Evan absolutely loves the sound an engine makes when you start it after a successful repair. Engine and cooling system repairs are his favorite parts about the auto industry. Evan is a proud father of a 2 year old girl. In his spare time he goes back to working on cars always as that is number 1 passion!

    BrentTechnician Licensed Technician & Interprovincial Red Seal Certified

    Brent has been with us since November of 2016. Originally from Calgary, Brent started working on cars at the young age of 13 years. He always knew exactly what he wanted to do with his lifelong passion for cars. Brent went professional with his career right out of high school and worked very hard to earn his Interprovincial Red Seal Certification soon after. At the end of his education he won the deans award for top marks in his class and went on to compete provincially in technical competitions with Automotive Service Technicians across the province and won gold. After that he went on to compete nationally and ranked very high. Brent is an industry leading automotive electrical specialist. In his spare time Brent plays the guitar, likes the outdoors, and spending time with family.
